Mission: Apartment Life
WOOOHOOOO!!!!!! Apartment!!! Only about 25 hours ago I moved into what will be my place of residence for the next year. The only minor issue? I'm alone in a four bedroom apartment with no car for the next six days. Okay, okay, not such a big deal since I do have things to do and ways to occupy myself until the other roommates come in, but it's sort of...quiet. It's almost as though I've sent myself to a resort, considering the point that the pool and 'fitness room' are both right outside the door - and down a stairway and down the sidewalk. But that's beside the point, somehow I've discovered that my mere presence isn't completely depressing. In fact, I've caught the attention of various people who are curious about the apartment. Alright, so a couple male friends only came because I convinced them that I needed them to move a heavy piece of furniture for me, only to discover that the entertainment center my mom and I discovered was removed by the time they arrived. Nevertheless, the apartment has become an attraction to those who wish to see it as the work in progress it currently is. I must admit though, it's rather satisfactory in its current state. Aside from lacking most furniture (including the entertainment center that we are apparently supposed to have), Sterling - er, University Springs has proved itself to be a rather enjoyable place. What do I enjoy most about moving in this early? I actually convinced someone else to move in earlier. And I get time to cook to my heart's desire. And write to/IM/call/e-mail people I haven't seen in a while. Ah, the joys of being alone for days on end. It's a strange combination, being quiet but hating to be alone for long periods of time, but I suppose it could be worse. Well, that's the news from this side of the world, onto new wild adventures (aka rearranging, cleaning, cooking, writing letters).
